Ripple Partners Japan’s Web3 Salon to Boost Asia’s Blockchain Innovation

Ripple partners with Web3 Salon, backed by JETRO, offering $200,000 grants to Japanese XRP Ledger startups amid regulatory clarity and economic challenges.

Ripple

Ripple has forged a strategic alliance with Web3 Salon, a project supported by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), marking a significant step in bolstering Asia’s blockchain space.

The collaboration, announced via an official X post, promises grant funding of up to $200,000 per project, specifically targeting promising startups building on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) in Japan. This initiative further solidifies Ripple’s commitment to the region’s burgeoning digital asset ecosystem.

“Ripple is proud to collaborate with Web3 Salon to unlock new opportunities in Japan’s thriving startup ecosystem. Together, we hope to fuel innovation and support the next generation of leaders,” RippleX Senior Director of Developer Growth Christina Chan states.

Asia Web3 Alliance Japan powers Web3 Salon. This collaboration falls under Ripple’s broader 1 billion XRP initiative and the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund. This project comprehensively supports XRPL builders by providing financial resources, technical expertise, and business acumen. This holistic approach fosters sustainable growth and innovation within the XRPL ecosystem.

Ripple Solidifies Presence in Japan

This partnership arrives at an opportune moment, with many anticipating a resolution to the XRP lawsuit. The SEC is nearing the end of its 60-day window for further action, but Justin Keener’s filing has reintroduced uncertainty into the case.

Japan is recognized for its clear regulations and robust consumer protection for digital assets. Ripple has already partnered with major Japanese companies like SBI Holdings, HashKey DX, and Mercari. This new partnership with Web3 Salon strengthens Ripple’s position in Japan.

By the close of 2025, experts forecast that the majority of Japanese banks will adopt Ripple’s XRP. This widespread adoption should significantly increase XRP’s utility within the region, especially for payments, supply chain finance, Web3, NFTs, and funding new businesses.

Hinza Asif, President of the Asia Web3 Alliance Japan, stated that the partnership is significant because Japan is a promising market for Web3 and blockchain. Through this partnership with Ripple, they want to help innovative founders and connect global innovation with Japan’s tech industry.

Considering Japan’s recent economic challenges, including those stemming from global trade issues, Ripple’s partnership with Web3 Salon offers a positive outlook. Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has said that the country’s economy is facing a crisis “worse than Greece.”
